In some ways his lines are more valuable for study because of their economy
Get thee to some old Staxx records. I Recommend Booker T & the MG's Doin' Our Thing

Listen to the Meters (everything!), and to "Desitively Bonnaroo" by Dr. John. | Quote:

| | | | I don't know if this name was mentioned, but Pino Pallidino, easily one of the groovest, bassist out. He's was outstanding in D'angelo's Voodoo album. He's also done, John Mayer, The Who, etc. etc. etc |

Two that always stand out for me are Ramble On (Led Zeppelin II) and Celebration Day (Led Zeppelin III).
And some of his lines are really hard to play (trying to learn Immigrant Song, but some parts I just can't move my fingers that fast yet!), but I learned Celebration Day so it can't be that hard. |

I would say his sense of funk groove and 16th note rhythm is highly simple, but rhythmically very advanced. Not a at all flash player. Check out the song "Page One" by Tower Of Power, just outstanding!

Well, they said "Francis Rocco Prestia" and I assume it's the same person.
I totally agree with your sentiments! Don't know much of his work, but every time I hear Tower of Power I really dig it.
