Guitarron teacher in SoCal

Been playing, self-taught for 7-8 years, even played it on a number of pro gigs and sessions (non-mariachi--more of a folk context) but could use some instruction from a real mariachi player. I learned the traditional mariachi technique on my own from videos and books and watching mariachis in action, but could use some pointers from a real pro.
Anybody know of a guitarron instructor in the LA area, preferably around Pasadena?

You can get a cheaper one that'll work fine. It's one of those rare cases, where the instrument is inherently so physically hard to play--even a really nice one---that learning on a cheaper instrument might actually HELP
I get around pretty well on it if I practice--if I lay off for a while it takes some serious "warming up" to get back in the zone with the intonation, etc. But man, when you see a really good player it looks so effortless and fluid, and sounds solid and consistent. I want to achieve that myself one day.
