I'd say go right handed. The left handed craze only recently started in the last few decades. Classical musicians ALWAYS start "right handed." I remember back when I was learning cello as a kid, I wanted to do it the other way, because it made sense to use your dominant hand for vibrato. My teacher said my hands will do exactly as they are supposed to with practice. I can't imagine trying any instrument left handed any more.

I have friends who are left handed and play violin professionally. Never occurred to them to play the other way (by the way, I never liked the term "left handed," because it makes an assumption that left handed players should play their "left handed" instruments.

Besides, if you just do it the old-fashioned way, you will have a MUCH larger selection of instruments.
