I'm fairly new at the bass and saw "bass magic" on line and thought it might help me but it costs $200. Has anyone tried it or heard if it's any good. It seems like a lot of money and you can't even download a demo. Here's their link... http://www.sdgsoft.com/
Thanks. |

Anything that expensive, without demos, has to be a rip-off.

"Learn Music Theory the right way. Not boring notes and numbers, you will truly understand theory and how to use it in modern music. "
is enough to prove that this program is pure BS.
Also notice that this "review"
"I've come from next to zero understanding to now understanding scale tones, intervals, chord construction, and more. Thanks for good material. Frank S. - Delaware "
Is in direct contradiction to the program's own claims.
Spend your money on a real teacher. |

Boring notes and numbers? Hmm seems to me like they're just trying to sell copies to people who normally wouldn't buy it. I think this is going to be about as useful as the Esteban instructional videos. Well except that Esteban includes the cheapest piece of **** guitar with his videos. |

You'll cement your position at NASA and still get laid when you go to night clubs!"

All from ESTEBAN. |

I thumbed through the book and glanced at the video though. You could've got better instruction from a kid with downsyndrome. But this is off topic.
I'm sure that magicbass can't be "that bad." Although, every time I say that, it turns out I'm wrong. I wouldn't think much of it just because it looks like in the captures on that ad that it has tabs underneath the sheet music. But I guess that's what they mean by never having to know a note. |

It's all the same music no matter how anyone tries to categorize it, package it, sell it, anything. A C chord is C, E, and G no matter what. Don't pay any attention to anything that sells you "musical instruction" that avoids music.

| | | | +1 on musicdojo.
Their introductory class is a bargain and chock full of useful info.
In general, I recommend that you never buy any music related stuff that contains the word "magic", if they could sell this sh*t on the tv, like they do home workout equipment/programs, they would. |

The "boring notes" bit kinda ticks me off. Music is a language and the notes are our words. Therefore I like understanding them, and I don't find theory boring in any way shape or form, in fact I love that I understand it and non-musicians do not.
Anyone that tries to take these crappy "short-cut" methods will only become an inferior musician in the long run. IMO |

getting to the point i think where i cant get further on my own so am gonna take lessons next. I think you get the a point where it doesnt matter how many times you read something you dont understand, you still wont get it till someone shows you. Many times you did understand it but dont have the confidence to know your doing something right. Im definetely glad i tried the online and books so much first though so im not going into lessons blind and will hopefully get my moneys worth.
ps 200$ would buy you a lot of real lessons.

| This is a good point. You can get some pretty decent teachers for $20 per half hour. That's 10 lessons, and there's a LOT that they can do for you in that time. The only better deal is musicdojo.com. Some pretty incredible teachers teach through there.

| | | | I'm going to have to give a +1 on music dojo. $200 can get you four months of lessons that will truly help your playing. I've taken many classes from them and can vouch.
