I'm interested in Paul Wolfe's basslines 101 course. Has anyone here taken it? It's $511 total, so im reluctant to take it without opinions.

he's got a nice pro site and some reasonable strategy but i've seen some vids where he's teaching the odd tune with some wrong notes to my ear......

the course may be very good, may be worth the money...

he seems to be helping a lot of players, his youtubes are invaluable for any who can't learn lines by ear ....i don't wanna knock him ....sounds like a lot of cash though.

I'm taking it right now.

Only two weeks into it.

I like the way he breaks things down and his approach to practice seems very , er, practical.

Besides, I learned a bunch of songs from his free offerings, so I wanted to make sure I supported his efforts. This course seems to be directed at the advanced beginner that I am.

Committing to pay may help me make time to practice. Maybe a little silly, but weekly commitments is what gets things done. That's why staff meetings work.

Waiting for the kids to go to sleep so that I can start practicing.

YMMV. Hell, My MMV!

I was looking at Paul Wolfe, as well as Tom Boyd, both UK based. It does seem like a lot of money, and I really enjoy their free weekly emails with tips and songs.
However, I think I am going to give Roy Vogt's Teach Me How To Play Bass Guitar DVD series a go soon.

Personally, I am really enjoying the Bass Guitar for Dummies DVD Software, found at Guitar Center. I have the print book, but the interactive DVD seems very good so far for me. I have also purchased the Hal Leornard books 1-3 with CDs, and will be supplementing these soon with the Dummies DVD.
