Held Chords?
Sign in to disble this ad
If I were playing a D/Bm7th chord, then continued to let the D, F# and A notes ring, would it still be either a
D/Bm7th chord
D chord
Or something else?

Yeah. "Slash" chords are typically written:
chord
/
bottom note
...not the reverse as you have written.

What mambo said.
And D-F#-A is a D major chord no matter how you slice it. Unless I read the question wrong, which is entirely possible.
