HELP!: Bass Tuning Question(problem)

Sign in to disble this ad
Hi i'm new to the form so i'm not sure if this is the right place to post this but...

I have aquestion. I'm (kind of not really) a beginer bassit. I've been playing for about 6 years, but i've never had a lesson beside knowing an amazing bassist who gives me tips ever once in a while... Anyway, heres my question.

I cant tune by ear and i use a chromatic tuner, its a KORG CA-30. It has a rang where you can adjust the Hz to turn to whatever scale or rang or... whatever, i dont know...

What my question is, for standard tuning, what would be the correct Hz to have it set for?? I know having it set wrong and screw you over for playing different songs. SO please help?

Standard Western tuning has the A above middle C tuned at 440Hz. Some countries tune to a slightly different A, notably Japan which I think is 442.
