Just been told by my worship leader today that we gonna play in a church new year event tomorrow night. We got a bunch of songs approx 10-13 songs to play in the worship etc.

Some songs i'm not too familiar with but i can keep up the beat etc. Was wondering is it a wise idea to just play the song using root note on the song i'm not too confident about and play those groove stuff on the songs i like and confident?

The worship leader do know do know is a short notice so we might keep alot of things simple and play the songs correctly. I guess i just stick with root note to play it safe right?

Well is songs like Give Thanks, Shout to the lord, Power of love etc.
Within those style but it just some of them i'm unsure how i gonna play.

I guess turn down the volume and play the root.

I usually sit down and write down my line and play along with it during practice, since this is short notice and i'm no talent to work stuff out while playing so root note is my best bet i take it.

Those 3 songs you listed are quite simple. Keep to the basics. Practice as much as you can, be confident. Pray before you play!
