Help me out

hey, i've been off practicing guitar for a few months and have recently decided to return to bass. I go back and forth between the two a lot because just when i start making tons of progress on one i realize how much fun the other is. Anyway, i have most of the bassics down (pun intended...) such as fingered style, i know my way around the fretboard, am decent at simple chords, and can do simple slap/ pop, however i'm not really sure what to work on next. Are there any songs that can help me build on my technique? i like fast paced and moving bass lines as well as jazzy stuff, is there anything I should look into? I'd consider myself intermediate, also I have worked for a couple days getting readjusted to the bass so i should be pretty well prepared to start learning new stuff.

first off, no bass puns, please.

second, you should consider getting a teacher who is versed in jazz who can teach you how to read music if you can't already and get you understanding how it all works. i happen to know a guy in raleigh who's really good. http://jmsbass.com crusty old fart but he'll get you right
