How do I upload a written music score?

Sign in to disble this ad
I have a bass music score that I wrote for a college music class a while back that I would like to share and get feedback on (hopefully tips on how to improve it musically and notation-wise). The score was written using LilyPond and saved as a PDF.

Thanks!

With pictures this is easy, just use something like photobucket. For PDF's or other types of files I'm not sure if a website like photobucket exists. Though there should be one. Google for it. What also could do is make screenshots of the pdf's and upload that as pictures into a photobucket account.

I'll try that out tomorrow. It's almost midnight right now.
Thanks for the tip.

This is the best option for uploading documents to the Net IMO.

Thanks for the link. It didn't work last night, but it seems to be functioning properly now.

Click on the link to view the sheet music.

Note: This was my first and only attempt to write a score. I transcribed as close as possible note for note from the fretboard fingering.

I have a crude recording of what it basically should sound like available for anyone interested in hearing it. It's not exactly what the music score shows due to my limited playing skills and crude recording methods.

Well, you should be able to upload it here as an attachment. Has to a pretty small size, but Attachment Manager will take them.

Thanks for the suggestion. I was able to place it on a fileshare system. Let me know if you can see it properly. Thanks!

I don't know, bro...it seems to be ignoring the 4/4 time signature. Usually, music writing programs won't let you do that, but apparently this one does. Might want to go through each bar and make sure the counts work out to 4/4.

I'll take a look through it and see. It's been quite a while since I wrote it (year and a half, maybe?). I may have missed something.

Thanks for looking at it.

Edit: I think there were supposed to be tie-ins between a number of measures, but I couldn't get that feature to work.

Noticed that too; the rhythms and time signature are mismatched in quite a lot of places.

I THOUGHT that Lilypond Did The Right Thing (tm), unless you specify exactly where you want the bar lines. It's been a while since I played with it.
