does anybody know how to get an amp to produce the sound that nikki does at around 1:01?

thats the sound of a double stop being played. It's also the direct feed from the bass in to the mixing board.

I'm not sure what kind of bass that is but you could cop that tone out of a Jazz Bass or a P Bass with a pic no prob imo. They sound like total shi*# by the way imo (especially Vince..ouch) but the bass sounds cool.

so a p or j bass huh? I never tried a bass with those types of pickups the ones I got have soapbar. Do you think a crappy bass with those pickups would sound close?

Dang I was there...I can still feel the sunburn. That sounds like my old Hondo bass with my old Musicman amp. I couldn't get it to not sound like that.

Lucky! I wish I was there. So your hondo bass sounded like that? How much do they cost?

Yep...just double stops...the sound is directly lifted from the soundboard...betting what people actually heard from the PA was very different...Board mixes always tend to sound a bit dull

Yes the sound sucked IMO but I think everyone was pretty stoned by then. Check out the Van Halen stuff from the same day to see a real treat.
