How to find a Bass Intructor?

Sign in to disble this ad
In an effort to help my learning curve, I've been looking into finding a bass instructor here in Lincoln, NE. My problem is that the only ones I can really find are 1) on a waiting list and more importantly 2) keyed on instructing school age kids instead of guys in their 40s.

I've tried asking around at the local music stores, looking in the classifieds and yellow pages, but nothing has come up.

I'd like to learn basic theory, technique as well as starting off learning Blues style and songs: any suggestions as to how to find an instructor?

There are at least four colleges or universities in Lincoln. Call the music department and tell them what you want to do. Certainly there is bass student there who would love to have the extra cash. Failing that, go to the campus(es) and post a flyer with your phone number or email address in the music department.

If the teacher is any good, this should n't be a problem. I'm in my 50's and attending a teacher. The person in before me is 17. Teaching the C major scale ect. to a 50 or 15 year old should not be any different to a teacher IMO.
