How often to change tubes?

Sign in to disble this ad
I am considering buying and SVT 3 Pro. I would not be gigging it yet...just light home use, jamming with a few buddies a few times a month. How often would I have to change the tubes, and for a decent set of tubes, how much?

That has a SS output section. Don't even worry about preamp tubes, they can last for years. Replace them when they begin to fail, you'll hear it.

Yeah, what he said.... If you want you could go ahead and do a upgrade on the tubes... may make a difference depending on how old amp is now.... if it's new... forget about it... thye wil last a long, long time.... I had the original tube in my SWR studio 220 for right at 5 years, i only swapped it cause i was afraid it was gonna go soon... Preamp tubes are good to go.

How much does it cost to get a decent set of tubes for an SVT-3. Is it an easy thing to do?

Hmm, there are a lot of threads being started lately that probably belong elsewhere. This one definitely belongs in AMPS.
