I am looking for a book of beginner practise tunes - can you recommend anything?

Hey all,
I'm looking for a book of simple tunes to practise, written for bass. When I learned piano as a kid I worked through all the nursery rhymes and simplifed classical pieces which gradually got harder (added more aspects of music theory in) - that is what I am after. I dont need theory books as I have some already and TAB is the worst thing thats every happened to me so none of that either!
My wife recommends the "A Tune A Day" series and I can find one called "A New Tune A Day" for bass - anyone got this or seen this?

Anyone got any recommendations?

Thanks a lot!

Glad to see there are things like that "New tune a day." That is exactly what I am needing also. So much of the music I want to play does not offer bass cleft - lead sheet, fake chord, but, no bass cleft.

Be interested in what your post turns up. I tried trombone and cello sheet music but could not get interested in the tunes. I would really like to find something like "The Ultimate Country Fake Book" 700 country songs, but, with bass cleft shown. Sure we have the chord name, but, I would like to see what the songwriter thought the bass line should be.

Thanks for posting.
