I can't get this bass cover down!

I am in a trio band and we picked six covers to learn to play as a group. Of course, I made the mistake of picking the song "Anthem" by Rush. I desperately want to learn it but it just isn't sticking past the first 10 measures. I have been playing with a CD and tabs (yes, I know, tabs aren't the best thing for Rush covers) and I am stuck, any help?

Man, I can help you since I already play that song, but the thing is that right now I have a really heavy workload and it will take me some time to transcribe it. Let me know how I can help in the meantime.

If you already have the tabs all you have to do is learn to listen to the bass line and tell apart the notes. Try and boost the lower frequencies on the recording so that the bass stands out more, and get a feel of the melody and rhythm.

You stole my answer.

I was going to say: "That's because you are playing on the computer."

Um...I barely spend any time on the computer anymore. Trust me, I spend plenty of time practicing bass.

Convert the song into mp3 format.
Play it in WinMediaPlayer > POD > headphones with your bass plugged in to "practice with it" as well. One of my woodsheds:

On parts you have trouble with, slow them down with the player and repeat until you get them...gradually bringing the speed up.

Also, if you REALLY want to learn it:
Make a CD with that as the only song.
Do NOT listen to anything else but that when you listen to music PERIOD!
