I have 12 bars to solo, not 8 or 16 bars

I am soloing over a song that is a pop, melodic song refering to vocals but with a lot of fusion elements and progressive elemnts, jazz elemens, like solos, complicated chord progressions, athmosphere.
What do you think about changing the usual way of depveloping a solo in Fusion over 16 and 32 bars to 12??
I like it this way cause it is not so long for the kind of song and not so short like 8 bars...
If you have any example please tell
Thanks

So your point is shorter solos? That seems kind of irrelevant to me. An extra four bars isn't much longer, doesn't seem to change much.

Personally, I like open solos, let the idea develop as it will.

But definitely not in pop rock haha

Sounds more like a 'break', not a 'solo'...

Perhaps treat it more like a brief diversion from the main song. But you only have 12 bars, so don't put too much information in there...

I really like the Jaco influence and jeff berlin I have there, it has interesting phrases, with an athmosphere and fusion keyboard chords and changes..I cannot change that
They are 4 bars of the drums playing toms in a climatic way and 8 bars where the drum give a more emotive feeling , the next 4 bars the singer start singing still in a climatic way...then to carry the song to a bridge
After that the song explodes again..
It is a slow song 82 bpm...I play some Jaco type licks inspired from the solo of continum...especially the last 6 bars of the solo, the first part of it is more melodic

The thing is that before it was a 8 bar break of the guitar....I liked how a bass solo would sound there and we are choosing between both versions
