Specifically, good fake books(or 'real books', I'm not particular) in swing, rock, Latin, and ballad. I'm not the most internet-savvy person out there, and so am having trouble finding anything. Please help?

The Hal Leonard fake books are good too. You can find the Sher and the Hal Leonard books at music stores.

There aren't "bass fake books" specifically. Most fake books are in the format of melody plus chord changes. Some fake books have written-out bass lines but only for tunes where there is a widely recognized standard bass line such as "Killer Joe" or "Footprints."

However, there are versions of the fake books where the melodies are written in bass clef. It's always a toss up whether to buy the treble- or bass-clef fake books for a bassist. The bass clef books are in the clef that we can read as bassists, but I've found that invariably my fake books end up on someone else's music stand at gigs, and most other players (even decent sax and trumpet players) have learned how to read treble clef charts.

I used my treble clef fake books to practice reading treble clef.

amazon.com has a good selection of music books, usually about 15-20% cheaper than ordering off the publisher's website. amazon.com also has the famous Real Book with the melodies written out in bass clef, all three volumes. Sightreading and getting the notes and rythmns correct and played with swing and feeling is enough of a challenge for me, and making it a bit easier by reading bass clef helps.
