Im pretty stuck here..... help please?

Ill start at the beginning of what happened here and explain, 2 years ago, i started playing bass, i got a teacher, named Torbjörn Wiberg, he normally played accoustic guitar, but could play bass too. He was extremely good, learned me extremely good technique, and pointed out fails all the fails i did no matter what and helped me correct them and made me really good. But now, this summer, he died, the polices theory is that he shot his wife and then himself 2 days later, but he was 60 years so that theory is certainly wrong, but then i got another bass teacher, ive only had one lesson with him, but it was obvious that he was much MUCH worse than my old teacher. He just played whatever music he wanted to show off, mostly blues and country and alike where i should use boring chords, while i would like songs that actually made me LEARN something and was notes, like the bass book im using at the moment, but he just took stupid things that i only could show of to my friends or something, not anything that was useful, and even though i had a bass book just lying there which would make me better without he needing to do anything nearly, he insisted on just doing that **** he was doing(no offense to people that makes such songs, writing and playing songs is just completely different), and he gave me absolutely no feedback, but i have come to a point where its hard to turn around, my fingers move like if i would want to play the bass all the time no matter if i want them to or not, so its hard to stop, but i still have lots to learn, so just stopping learning and playing with some band or something wouldnt be very useful neither, so i dont know what to do. :/
So, any hints? Should i just wait and see if he might be better than what he shown now at first, should i find some other bass teacher(and if so, how should i know if he is good or not without having to start learning from him/her which would cost about 200$? and could a acoustic bass teacher be possible to good?), or should i get some teacher via the internet or teach myself or just start in some band without some more teaching or what? I really need help :S

Dang is right.

If you're not happy with the teacher, talk to him. Tell him what you'd like to learn as opposed to what he's teaching you. If you can't come to some agreement, then I'd say to find another teacher.

How do you know if someone's a good teacher? Chat with them, see if you like them as a person and if you get along. Then ask them how they like to teach and see if maybe you can do a trial lesson (or something).

We have European members here that might assist you in
finding a new teacher. It would help if you filled out your
profile, particulary your location, so that they can assist you.

It might also help if you posted this in the correct forum. I'll ask for it to be moved for you.

Paragraphs would be nice.

Find another bass teacher. This one is bad and doesn't deserve your money.

You've been playing for 2 years, correct? What have you been playing, i.e. what can you do now. Kinda need to know that to point you in any direction.

As far as the teacher, it's your money, how you want to spend it is up to you, however, it does sound like you are not getting your money's worth.

If we are to help be a little more specific about what you want to learn more about.
