Instrumental Lesson Prices

Sign in to disble this ad
I'm enrolled as a music ed major at my college, and someone who heard of me would really like their son to take lessons from me. I've never been in this kind of situation before so i would definitely like some feedback. As far as instrument, I'm not entirely sure yet, but it will either be e. bass, sax, or keyboard.

Lessons will be 3 times a week for an hour each time for an entire month. (I'm going to see if they'd prefer just twice a week)

What should I be focusing on during the lessons? The student will have almost no background in music. What about price? 3 x 1 hour sessions/week for 4 weeks. Any other things i should keep in mind?

P.S.- if this is the wrong forum, sorry about that. You can move this to another one.

Why would anyone need a lesson three times a week? I think the idea is to give them material to practice for a week and then have another lesson. Unless you are planning on sitting there while they practice..

Are you really asking what you should be teaching? Maybe you should wait a few semesters before you take on a student. Get a feel for your chosen profession.

Tone, technique, reportoie, theory and time... administered in very small doses over a protracted period of time.
