jamming with MIDIs

Sign in to disble this ad
Hello,

(sorry if this sounds like a stupid question..iam a total noob boob..)

I bought the Fender B-Dec, and one of the things that people keep raving about is that i can upload and jam to midi files..

I dont know what exactly that means..i have tried searching all over to find how i can jam to midi files, but came up with nothing..i had some pretty basic questions..

Can i get midi files that have only the bass part, and if yes, where can i get them?..

If i cant get midi files with only bass, is there i way i can supress other instruments to get to the bass..

Can i find a way to transcribe the notes on the midi? ( i will definitely try doing it by the ear first..just want a way to verify the results..)

any pointers would be helpful!

You can find MIDI files with and without bass parts. Also, if you want to take the bass track out, you can do that before you upload the MIDI file to the B-DEC.

You may want to make sure your MIDI interface is supported by the B-DEC. Not all brands are supported for all functionality. I ended up buying an M-Audio 1x1 to use with my B-DEC.

Not if your current MIDI setup works okay.

Did you read the documentation that's available on Fender's site? Everything I know about the B-DEC I learned from there. There's also www.mygdec.com, but their B-DEC section is pretty lacking.
