You were doing your Hubbards Cupboard thing back when I started playing bass. Got those albums on vinyl, listened to them so many times. "Driving The Porcelain Bus" was a favourite of mine.
I also still have "Basslines" and "Pop basslines". Great publications.
You were one of my first influences on bass. I'll follow your blog with interest. |

| | | Hi Guys
Just thought I would let you know that I now have a FREE downloadable eBook called “Unlocking The Groove!” available at my website, http://www.joehubbardbass.com
All you have to do is sign up for my free newsletter and submit your email and I’ll send you the book. Your details will never be shared with any third party as I absolutely hate spam of any type. You can also unsubscribe at any time.
“Unlocking The Groove!” is a bass guitar mini course designed to help all levels of bass players to understand how to take a simple idea, build progressively on that idea and make it groove consistently. There is a lot of useful information in this eBook that can help both players and teachers alike. Our goal as part of the rhythm section is to lay down a solid groove. This concept is highly underestimated by many bass players who get caught up with learning too many flashy techniques in detriment to laying the foundation.
Hope you guys enjoy the book!
Peace

| | | Hi Guys
I just posted a new article on the difference between developing technique for technique’s sake vs. developing the attributes or inner qualities that provide the foundation from which technique springs forth from. In a performance situation, the better player will be the guy who possesses superior attributes. Have a read… http://www.joehubbardbass.com/

| | | New Blog Post- Bass Guitar Practice Principles Part 2
Once you understand the basic movements required for the attributes, skill sets and applied bass guitar theory that you are learning, it is then advisable to commit the understanding of these movements into your long term motor memory. This is the way forward to internalising whatever it is that you are learning- maintaining it and making it functional. It is at this level where you will be able to...[read full story here]: http://www.joehubbardbass.com/346/ba...ciples-part-2/

| | | I just uploaded a new FREE lesson on Understanding Intervals which you can download at: http://www.joehubbardbass.com/cool-free-bass-stuff/
Understanding Intervals is the first step to understanding harmony. There is so much misinformation out there on the internet, I thought this lesson would be a helpful guide.
Enjoy
