Jon Myung tapping metropolis help

Sign in to disble this ad
My band is doing a cover of this song and I can't get the 32nd notes fast or even enough on the solo. I loosened my hand up, tapped softer and got them a bit faster and cleaner but I still have it at about half speed 3/4 speed tops. What should I be doing to speed this up? Should I use my ring finger also or just try to tap faster with my middle finger? I feel like there should be a trick to this to get it faster but I can't seem to figure it out. Any help would be apreciated.
Thanks, Ari

I found the way Myung does it, tapping the two 32nd notes with his middle finger, to be harder.

Tapping the two 32nd notes with your ring, and then middle fingers, with a sort of flicking motion from the wrist, seems to be the easiest way.
