I suppose a good way to start would be to go over everything you first started learning, right from the beginning and take it from there.

just take every scale you know and discover all of the songs you grew up loving that are contained in that scale! its fun and educational. whenever my son asks me how to play a certain song, i send him away with the root notes and scales. a few hours later he comes back, playing the song, with a huge smile. gl.

Since you've been gone backing tracks are now all over the Internet. Play along with those backing tracks, I bet, it will come back quicker than you expect.

On this one try some double Root notes like -- R-R-2, R-R-3, R-R-4, see how that goes. Or a stroll up the
major pentatonic R-2-3-5-6 and back 6-5-3-2-R

Root on the 4th string
G|---2---|-------|---3---|---4---| 1st string
D|---6---|-------|---7---|---8---|
A|---3---|---4---|-------|---5---|
E|-------|---R---|-------|---2---|4th string

Root on the 3rd string.
G|---6---|-------|---7---|---8---| 1st string
D|---3---|---4---|-------|---5---|
A|-------|---R----|------|---2---|
E|-------|---5----|------|---6---|4th string

In case you've forgotten the blues chord progression here it is in A

Play R-R-R-R and change with the chord changes.
Then give the Minor pentatonic - R, b3, 4, 5, b7 a try. Start on the 4th string 10th fret and yes flat the 3 and the 7.

Good luck
