Key Change in song "Get the funk out ma face" by Brothers johnson

Not sure if this is the correct section to ask this question but here goes:

It seems that this catchy funk tune changes keys when switching from the chorus ("Get the Funk out ma face, Get...The...Funk...Out ma face) from E minor pentatonic to a G minor pentatonic verse ("If you dont like my music....you dont have to use it).

I guess my question is how does this transition sound so natural? i play primarily by ear and I would like to know what theory is behind such a transition, i'm sure it will be a fairly simple explanation.

btw, here is a bass cover of the song on youtube(not mine):

Actually, the G section is a major pentatonic. Don't be confused by the use of the flatted third in the riff. The reason it sounds seamless is that E is the relative minor to G major. This is a chord movement used a lot in old school funk (James Brown's "Funky Good Time" for example).
