Knuckles hitting PIck guard when popping...

Hey all, when i pop my knuckles hit the pick guard, like the little knuckles just above my nail, and it makes a tapping sound when i hit it, is this a big problem i should fix or do most people who pop, tap there knucles off it? it dont hurt or anything i was just woundering if its something i should avoid doin or something thats no big deal

well you could position your hand a bit farther from the pickups so ur not popping directly over them. and maybe your getting your finger under the string and digging in a bit too much.
