I'd like to be in a band where it had lead bass, i can only write songs on bass so they tend to be a bit busy and all, i just dont' know any good guitar players to add something cool to it, and am not good enough at guitar or keys to add much myself.

I don't know .This whole "Lead Bass " thing doesn't work for me.
I see it as fustrated guitar players wanting to stand out from other guitar players so they play on a bass instead.
Then I feel the same way about 6,7,9 + string "Basses" also.
I'm not trying to tic anyone off although I'm sure I will.
A upright/fender defines what a bass is and what it's traditional roles are to me.

Well I, for one, had never wanted to be a guitarist and I dislike the smallness of guitars. I do see myself as a frustrated Singer though... and will contunue to step out front when it feels right AND listen to other Bassists that do the same.

not wanking... singing

For what it's worth, I think Jaco's "Teen Town" and Jeff Berlin's "Joe Frazier" are quintessential examples of this.

I for one likes innovators who redefines the role of the bass... like Geddy Lee, Matt freeman, John Aldrete, cliff burton etc. I also like guys like sheehan, claypool and myung but i dont really dig their music...so yeah
