So im learning a song and have everything down but finger tapping.
just cannot get the hang of it! The song is Protest The Hero- Sequoia Throne its Prog-Metal. If someone one could make a video demonstrating how to finger tap on a bass that would help me so much! But if not just some suggestions.

Google Billy Sheehan - Go to his website, purchase his DVDs.

Practice for hours on end.....You'll get the hang of it. Anything is easy once you already know how to do it!

Good luck -

Here's a lesson by Victor Wooten on tapping and chords. Also, please don't cross post
Leaning to Tap.

What kind of plugin is needed for this to play? It's not showing anything but a white square for me

Thats weird! It's just a youtube vid, that uses the typical flash plug-in, like they all do.

Try this link:

The biggest thing is to make it easier on yourself; this way you can avoid frustration and start making music from the get-go.

My advice would be to set up your equipment for this first of all. Lower your strings as low as you can get them. Set your levels and EQ appropriately for volume and clarity. Consider using a mute on the dead end of the string (at least for now).

Play as lightly as possible, and play relaxed. Don't let your instrument play you. One of the biggest mistakes people make (especially in playing slap and tap) is playing too aggressively and too tense.
