Learn Bass Theory, Terms, Etc....

Sign in to disble this ad
Hi, I went to my local guitar center and wanted to pick up a Bass instruction book. I am not a beginner, I'd say intermediate. I'd like to learn more solid scales and terms. I saw some books with cds by Hal Leonard. Are those good? What would be the best choice? Please get back to me! Thanks!

IMO for starters Online Bass Lessons at StudyBass.com and the book Bass Guitar for Dummies would be my recommendation.

You can count on anything Hal Leonard publishes. They are the publisher of Ed Friedland's book Building Walking Bass Lines. Amazon.com: Building Walking Bass Lines (9780793542048): Ed Friedland: Books which should be in your library.

Ed has another book that I do not have, however, is highly recommended by people on this forum. http://www.amazon.com/Leonard-Bass-M...24082093&sr=1-

Here is a music dictionary that will help with those music terms, etc. http://www.music.vt.edu/musicdictionary/

Scale charts, patterns etc. can be found in Bass Guitar for Dummies.

Good luck.
