Thanks for the links guys. I'm finding these to be very helpful.

And while I could just be learning the notes while playing, there's just something about the interactivity aspect that seems to make me learn faster rather than having to have a printout next to me while I play. It's like how flashcards are so successful. You don't have to spend as much time thinking looking up the answer.

In fact, I was thinking of just making flashcards of various chords and keys that I have problems remembering so that way they get more solidified in my head, and I won't have to think about them as much.

I think the next step after learning the fretboard and clef is ear training, don't you think?

You are right. A good ear treaning exercise is to sign the notes that you play. Siging "connects" the ear and the bass.
