| It depends on your goals as a bassist and as a musician. If you ever decide to try the Bach 'cello suites on bass, for example, chances are you'll want to be able to read both bass and tenor clef. If you want to learn to read melodies from a piano score, then learn bass and treble clef.
If you just want to pound the low end, bass clef will likely be all you need. Conceptually, they are all the same; only the position of middle C (or other reference note) on a piano changes on each stave, depending on clef.
