Can anyone recommend a good bass teacher in the Philadelphia area, preferably a teacher with a jazz background?

Anthony Wellington teaches in Philly once a month at Bass Central (I think that's the place) I do know he teaches there regularly. You will not find a better teacher anywhere...

Anthony is the best that there is hands down!

However, he teaches at Bass Specialties (in Phila) not Bass Central (which is in Fla. Great group of people as well)

You can get info from Glenn Marrazzo (owner) at www.bassspecialties.com

Great guy and great store! Glenn always has clinics at the store and you never know who might just "Pop" in!

You'll not regret taking lessons from Anthony!

Yep, that's the place, thanks for the correction! I need to call Glen anyway to get a cab. I've bought all my equipmnent from him because he gives discounts to Anthony's students. So thanks for the number too, lol!

I took lessons from Craig Thomas for awhile. He teaches at University of Delaware, but I think also at University of the Arts in Philadelphia.

He's a jazz guy.

Another vote for Anthony Wellington-great teacher and player!
Also, I would highly recommend my friend Gerald Veasley when you're ready for intensive Jazz studies.
