Looking for a teacher in LA

Sign in to disble this ad
After flailing away on my own for a while with a Fender starter pack and some books, I decided this is getting good enough to invest in a real instrument and lessons. (Note: I did not say that I was getting good . . . .)

Can anyone recommend a good teacher in the LA area? I'm looking for input from folks on the student end of the process.

Thanks.

What kind of stuff are you looking to learn? From beginner level I am assuming?

Are you interested in technique, reading, what kind of music?

(Im available)

Thanks for taking the time to respond folks, and I'll follow up on the references you provided.

But what I was really hoping for--and can't find anywhere--is feedback on teaching. You can usually find out about a teacher's playing abilities, but being a great performer does not necessarily translate into being a great teacher.
