Major versus minor -- REM and Losing My Religion
 

Here's an interesting example of the difference in sound and emotional effect between major keys and minor keys.

REM's 1991 hit single "Losing My Religion" is in a minor key (A minor, I think).

Someone has digitally transposed it to a major scale.
