Well i just got out of school, i have loads of time on my hands between the work shifts n other stuff. So im asking for a list of like 20 or more songs that you think every bassist should know (because it's well known, technically hard or tricky, or any reason)

Donna Lee (Jaco, NHØP, others too I'm sure). That alone might keep you busy for a decade or two.

"Badge" by Cream to see the Amin arpeggio that becomes the basis for the line.

"When Doves Cry" and the verse section of both "Honky Tonk Women" by the Stones and "Alright Now" by Free to learn economy and how to shut the heck up.

The live version of "Honky Tonk Women" by the Stones on "Get Your Ya-Yas Out" to learn that the studio RECORDING is NOT the song, and doesn't need to be held as sacred.

Stormy Monday

Those tunes both show up a lot when you're jammin with folks you don't necessarily know.

Let's change this thread a bit. Make a top list of the song that "show up a lot when you're jammin with folks you don't necessarily know"

That would be usefull to

Black Dog.
Dazed and Confused.

Technically, if its by Cream, Led Zeppelin, or Jimi it will probably pop up during a jam seesion. IME, YMMV, etc.
