Dude this is BS! Thomas is the one that thought me how to play the bass basically! I remember his "Soul in C" video (i think that was the name). Damn i was inspired!

Oh well. Thomas is trying to find a host to put it up on again.

ARGGGRRRR!! MY YOUTUBE ACCOUNT IS CLOSED!! ON COPYRIGHT ISSUES (my play-alongs), most of my videos were hosted there and are not available rigth now BUT DONT DISPAIR! I still have the original videos and will move all my “Lick of the day” and other tutorial videos to other video hosts, within the next few days i hope, starting with the most recent ones

Well i must admit that im in shock right now, my main claim to fame is abruptly closed down:-(

And im not able to open a new YT account, im a “persona non grata” as far as they are concerned

BUT PLEASE! THOSE OF YOU WITH AN YOUTUBE ACCOUNT PLEASE SPREAD THE WORD THAT MARLOWEDK AND PLAYBASSNOW.COM LIVES! , THANK YOU. And to those of you that have downloaded some of my videos in the past, you are more than welcome to upload them to Youtube, it would be of great support to me and a way to get people over here.

Of course you should only upload my original stuff as “the lick of the day” videos - not the playalongs - we dont want you shut down too!:-)

But i need a place to host my old playalongs, still got most of them so if any know of a less rigid videohost let me know
Edit: Why didn't youtube just mute the sound as they do on other peoples videos if there is copyright claimed material on it? Thomas had so much original videos up.

I can't say for sure but, I'd think once a player has heard the music off Youtube, maybe off a site where a another player is teaching from, they, the student, would be more likely to go out and purchase it the original. Its the style of music people are drawn to not just the bass lines.
I, being an, let's say, a seasoned musician, am surprised how much music I've purchased after being rekindle with it after I've heard it on Youtube. Music, I owned in album form that never bought on CD. But, after these such actions by what it amounts to excessive greed by WB & PRS, though I'm not sure who they are, I'll make it a point to avoid these companies in the future.
The record companies are in the crapper not because of musicians and music but because of corporate greed. Years ago they produced lots of music by lots of different artists then they decided, probably after Thriller, they wanted all the money from a few artists.
Record companies, oil companies, banks and the big three are all run by the same people. ...... Accountants who may be able to multiply but they just can't add.
