Hey. I'm getting this book soon. I'll probably start after I finish the Hal Leonard Bass Method (all three). Is it a good buy?

Mel Bay was to music what Betty Crocker was to cooking.......

Actually, the Mel Bay theroy book is very good, especially for beginners trying to understand music theroy.

I've been looking to finally start "learning" how to play, and have been looking at the same exact books. Now, I plan on getting both of them at some point, but which is a better book to start with?

I taught using that book for years - it's a fine book. Lotsa good info in it.
