MELODY book

I am taking the advice of many other TB'ers and trying to learn better soloing/improv skills through melody. The problem is, I am not the world's best transcriber so it takes me fairly long to do smaller segments (especially with other instruments). So I was wondering if there are any instructional books or videos which teach this concept. I am looking for melodies to jazz tunes, vocal melodies, guitar/sax/piano/ or basically any instrumental solos written in bass clef. A book about melody would also help I suppose. Any suggestions? Thanks a lot.

Try to find a bass clef version of the Real Book.
