| | | How fast can you play?
The Four Horsemen - Metallica http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C4nCy...eature=related
I think its a good practice song since its not really too fast and has you switching from triplets to eighth notes, and has you going from open strings all the way up to the 21st fret on the D string! (Or 16 on the G if you have a 20 fret neck )
The Trooper - Iron Maiden http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jgqxQ...eature=related
Its fast. And awesome. Do it.

Although it doesn't have the cool melodic solo in the middle, and the OP said he was new in the ways of The Metal, so I figured it'd be better not to overwhelm him.

They play in a few different time signatures and Arif likes to incorporate everything from tap scales to a bit of slap. I'd recommend anything off the Fortress album seeing as you'll find tabs really easily and you can even find recordings of the bass by itself to help you learn by ear. It's not overly technical either meaning you can still have fun playing it.
P.S. It's also easier to play these songs on a 5 string. |

| | | | Mudvayne is awesome, first album is fast downtuned hell and the last 3 albums are melodic fun=)
