Whats a good scale(s) for heavy metal?
Something not so happy sounding.
If it's any indication as to what I like, I do like the egyptian scale, hirojoshi, and i can do the Dim7 arpeggio pretty well. |

IMO, Number of the Beast is one of THE WORST Iron Maiden songs ever.

Thanks for the responses, though. | 666 rule, most maiden songs arent really that heavy and angry anyways but they can still rock while having their own sound. |

Number is definately not my favorite Maiden song, but it's still a classic. |

You sure can make some good riffs based on those scales.
