Anybody knows where I can find MIDI files of standards just to practice changes/soloing. I know it will sound "corny" as hell , but I'm ready to suffer.
I already have all the fakes/real/ etc. of the world.....

Any link appreciated .

Have you checked out Band In a Box? This newest version looks amazing, so I may pick this one up myself.

As you suspect I think you will be losing a lot - as the Abersold's give you the chance to play along with some of the best jazz musicians, playing as they would - breathing and swinging etc.

Whereas a Midi will have none of that expression and feeling!

I was about to say "band in a box!!" but two people mentionned it before.
To say it's a pretty good software for practicing.

Yeah that is the inconvenient... lol. But it's soo practical so start with a tune. You choose the tempo, number of choruses, etc. and you play it well before rehearse with the band. That's the advantage of it!!

But the disadvantage is that you are not playing with people - when you want to be practicing to play with people...

I know that MIDI is square but it's just a way to learn changes.

I already have plenty of music softwares ( DP5.12 ,Mach5 , Sibelius,etc... )

I just want to find MIDI files. There are millions of pop songs , but haven't found any standard......

So anybody knows where I can find those?
