More musical?

Good Morning, I'm having a bit of a bass block at the moment and after a sesh of playing last night i i found that my technique seems to have progressed far further than my musical ear. i'm worried please help.

You don't need to worry. If your technique is better than your ear for music then all you have to do is devote more time to working on that. Just knowing it's not as good as you want it to be is a good first step.

The obvious thing is transcribing - listen to recordings, work out what the player(s) was doing and why - use that knowledge to inform your own playing!

Yes. Transcribe. And play some non-bass music - the heads to jazz standards, opera arias etc.
