All those scales, and most people won't know what to do with any of them. Like cable TV- 200 channels, and nothin' on...

Just a point of interest.

Diatonic scales and modes are made up of 3 basic patterns:

Wholetone - Halftone
Halftone - Wholetone
Wholetone - Wholetone

The Bass Grimoire has more scales than you'll ever need. Best book I've come across for scales at least.

Meh, can't say that's true for me- I like learning weird stuff like this, it allows me to explore and incorporate new elements. Besides, I love middle eastern music, and these scales are AWESOME.

I got a bass book wit 180 different scales in it, so that doesnt look like a long list to me
