sometimes i do! the demos in this video are just random flashy demonstrations..not like my usual playing its just to show the technique. and grappling hook is just a way to stablize your neck to keep it perfectly still while tapping for a while or if you wanna move around a lot. eddie van halen does it on his guitar..(i hardly use it at all anymore) you just latch onto your neck with your pinky and tap with the other fingers.
So youre just holding the neck up with your pinky and tapping with the other fingers?
yup! its flashy enough for a crowd to look at you like youre an alien and cheer real loud too haha but i like it when my instruments moving around cause im running aroudn the stage and need it to stay put or if i wanna zero in and really focus..its like BAM! now my hands stuck to that part of the neck where it needs to be and it cant go anywhere til i unlatch the hook ..good for hard parts
