| In my guitar days I had a Nashville tuned guitar, they were a specialty thing for recording. You could kind of think of it as a 12-string without the regular strings. High like a 12-string, but not janglie sounding.
I can't see any reason to do it on bass. You want this sound go to a tenor bass like Stanley Clarke, Victor Wooten and others play. There the whole instrument is tuned up higher.
