Need help with a progression.

(I do hope this belongs here...)

I've been working on a tapping piece for quite some time. I've (finally) learned some basic theory, and with the help of my new teacher, I've got an idea of where to go. But, alas, I'm stumped. I'd like an idea for a melodic jazz walk, with a somewhat dark feel.

Anyway, here's the general progression:

| D- 9/11 | C Maj 7 add 11 | B-7 | E-7 | A7 |

Here's the intro of what I'll come out of. 30 second bad quality clip, went straight line in. And between the two lines there is usually a sustain for a transition, but I slipped up. Maybe this will give a general feel.

Haven't heard the file, but the progression you've posted will work great with the approach in Chris Fitzgerald's lesson somebody posted on one of the other walking threads that have surfaced in the last few days...

Bass Line Construction: Target Approach

Start with something simple like |R 5 R approach|R 5 R approach| etc. then gradually incorporate other chord tones, scalar approaches etc.
