Ok heres the deal:

Ive been playing bass for about 9 months now (but im pretty good at what I do, prac allot and have a solid theory knowlage. My slap/pop is alright, but definatly needs work (especially slapping on strings other then e).

Now I've got a bass solo performance comming up for school in about a month and I want a song which is

a) not too hard to learn
b) sounds awsome
c) doesnt require a backing track, or if it does can be easily located.

Something around the same difficulty as higher ground etc.

thanks in advance for any suggestions.

I've always thought that Green Eyed Lady has a cool bass line and it is very easy.

Radar Love by Golden Earring is very easy and sounds good. Same for Lagrange by ZZ Top. Ditto for Money by Pink Floyd.

I'm not familiar with modern rock. Geezer > 40.

Good Luck on you search.

Radar Love was the first song I learned to play on bass.
