Thumbs up New Stu Hamm Bass Guitar Lessons

Sign in to disble this ad
Hey guys, just discovered a new Stu Hamm instructional course over on TrueFire.com for bass guitar. Just wondering what you think of it - http://bit.ly/FretboardFitness - it looks pretty solid, but not sure if I'm gonna pull the trigger and buy it yet. Let me know what you think!

Been looking for some video lessons, currently looking at the roy vogt, though a bit expensive, this is pretty cheap thinking about this seriously.
edit:
Eh after looking at the samples I'm going to bite on the basics download So much in there that I should know and almost exactly what I'm looking for.

I just bought a copy. Give me a few days to dig into it and I'll write up a little review.

The bass bassics (his first video for the site) is pretty darn good and he's pretty entertaining and very easy to follow. though I can't seem to get the powertab to work with the program but of well.

I'll be pulling the trigger on the second after a month or so of this video.

The price of these materials is - beyond reasonable. It's a no brainer to buy and take a look.

Stu's a great teacher - and player.

on a side note, the op, profile and information and the three posts do seem to be fishy

Nonsense. I have no connection to Stu, but I know a bargain when I see one. One of these packages is less than the cost of a lesson by a hacker at a music store. Total no brainer. Plus, Stu actually knows what he's talking about.

its clear zwendkos is only here to promote the course which i think is against the following TB rules hence i said it seems to be "fishy"

Regardless of who the OP is and what his/her intentions are (not condoning breaking the rules), I bought the 2 videos because of this thread. I am new to bass and the first lesson so far is pretty good.

There's a program that comes with the tabs but I have not gotten it to work. They do open up in a new window of my browser so that's fine with me. The interactive display has a metronome on it and an easy menu to access the next or previous lesson.

I just started it but so far I'd give the first one a Thumbs Up. Just my .02.

Ok, if this has been done in two threads, then I take back my comments.

Anyway, IMHO, Stu's materials Are worthy of the measly bucks they are asking. Well worth those bucks.

hey guys - sorry about that, not trying to troll or spam, just trying to put in a good word for TrueFire and get your opinion on the course(s). I'll be sure to refrain from any such posts in the future and really appreciate your feedback.

I snagged it. It is pretty good thus far - lots of exercises to get your fingers moving around the fingerboard and learning patterns and getting modes stuck into your brain.

zwenkos I think works for TF (name seems familiar) - you should check out the commercial user policy and update your info to indicate you work for them.

In the spirit of all that, I run Stu's site & whatnot.

Could someone explain to me what formats the lessons come in, and how they work ? Anytime I click "how to choose a format" on the site, it does not work.

Thanks.
