Depends on your style. For the longest time I used my middle but recently I've been switching between my index and middle for increased speed.
It's useful for double pop techniques and such.

index and middle mostly. some guys with crazy chops occasionally might throw in the ring and pinky too
so you can work on incorporating the first initially! its great having choices so you can throw them both in when needed!
