Ok, this is gonna sound really dumb, but I'm new at this stuff so, here's my question:
I have finished a few beginner books and I'm now into the first one that has pieces that cover several pages. My silly question is how do you keep playing while turning pages? Dumb question, I know, but I seem to be having a little difficulty with it. |

I assume once you memorize the last few bars on one page as well as the first few on the next, you can turn the page durring a rest note. Or you can just memorize the whole piece. |

Hope that makes sense... |

| | | | You design, patent and build a device for Kindle that allows it to use sheet music and has a built in frequency indentificator, be it it a mic with software or oscillator or whatever. Then when it realizes you're nearing the end of the page it scrolls down a bit or turn to the next page.
Or perhaps something that has a foot switch incorporated to it that turns the paper or changes page in Kindle. That would be easier to manufacture and probably easy to sell.
Wouldn't be too hard to use a hand held scanner for scanning sheet music (in they're not online or as a file already) so you can use eBook for it.

Turning pages gets getting used to, but the more you do it the faster you get at it.
Some will fold the corner of the page so they can turn it a bit faster.
A musicstand would be handy if you have one. Without one it would be even harder. |

Generally I found that the sheet music to a song usually fits on 2 or 3 pages which means you can spread the whole piece out at once on your music stand. A handy trick is to get a piece of hardboard roughly 2' x 1' (60cm X 30cm) and put it on your stand behind the charts to support the 3 and 4 pagers.

Dumb question, I know, but I seem to be having a little difficulty with it. | You will learn and memorize the pieces. After all, at a gig you may have cheat sheets and fake sheets, but you don't want to look as though you're playing from a book.
While learning and playing by yourself, I think it's perfectly OK to stop playing to Turn The Page (I had to, I just had to! I'm weak!) at this point in your learning.
And I'll echo someone else's suggestion about photo copies. They're for your own use, so I don't think there's a copyright problem (who's gonna know? ). Definitely get a cheap metal music stand (usually $14.95) and spread them out on it. You can fit 3 sheets on the stand by clipping them.
Hey, necessity is the mother of invention.
