Online Music School

I've been in the military (Navy) for almost 5 years in a few months. I have gone to a few online courses to get some more indepth education on music theory. Though this may not be the correct forum for this thread please direct me.

I will be stationed in Hawaii for the next three years. So this is going to be a multiple part question.

1. Anyone know of good music places to play, musicians, where and how to get into the music scene on Oahu?

2. During working hours I will be able to take courses online and do school work. Anyone know of any online courses that I can take to move forward towards my degree. I'd like to get my bachelors and know that being in a class will be better but as far as online courses go, what are my options?

Thank you for taking the time to read this. I don't leave till Jan. but at least I'll have an idea of where to go and who to talk to if is possible. For music schools, I have 3 years for school, basically Navy is making me. We have so much down time and I want to come out with an associates at least.

Hey man, hit me up when you get here. I'm assuming you're gonna be in Pearl Harbor, I'm not too far down the road. Drop me a line and we'll jam sometime.

There are 4 military bands on Oahu. One at Schofield Barracks, one at Hickam, and 2 at Kaneohe. You might want to start with some of those guys - they're pretty connected to the scene.
